Cedar Shingles - #1 Perfection 18" - Roofing
The term "Perfection" refers to all red cedar shingles that are 18",
(457mm) in length, in all grades. Perfection shingles are 0.45" (11.4mm) thick,
(nominal - all grades). The recommended exposure for an 18" shingle roof is 5-1/2"
(140mm) for a 3-ply, water tight construction.
Western Red Cedar 18" Perfections are the most common shingle and are
used in many markets around the world. The biggest market for Perfections
are the Northeast states of the US where they have been used on the roofs
and walls for over 100 years. They are also used in other markets throughout
North America, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Japan, Korea and Europe.
